jwelker asked: how do you feel about Bulleit? Lately its all I drink (normally its Wild Turkey or Makers).
I am a big fan of Bulleit. Whats interesting about Bulleit is that it was originated in the 1830’s with a tavern-keeper and small-time distiller (which was pretty common back then. It was cheaper to make your own whiskey then import others) Augustus Bulleit, but production ceased after his death in 1860. However, the brand was revived using the original recipe, but not until 1987 by his great-great-great grandson, Tom Bulleit. It’s now distilled in Diageo by Four Roses Distillery.
I do find it interesting that your other two favorites are Wild Turkey and Makes, they are like the night and day of bourbon (i feel). Wild Turkey can grab you by the balls and not let go, a good drink for shots. Makers is so much more mild that I most of the time don’t even put water in it.
